Myth Busting: Car Colors That Get Ticketed The Most

In this article we’ll take a look at the most ticketed car colors to determine if there is any truth to certain myths around this subject matter.

For instance, a bright and flashy red is not the most ticketed car color as most urban legends would tell you, and it might surprise you to know that white is actually the top color for getting ticketed the most, with similar shades of silver and gray following closely behind. But in all fairness, red actually came in second so there might be something to the legend.

While the make models do matter and the sporty versions are definitely cited as receiving their share of tickets, it really does come down to safety and how the driver is operating their vehicle.

Youthful coupes versus the family minivan will prevail in how the numbers show up but when it comes to your chances of getting pulled over for a traffic citation what does color have to do with it?

Well, there’s actually more criteria than color to consider when estimating your chances for a ticket and keeping in mind how an officer may favor these factors could be the deal breaker. An officer is more likely to notice offensive driving before displaying a make/model bias but the circumstances that could draw their eye to your vehicle is a constant variable: speeding and distracted driving being top on their radar. If you’re tailgating, driving a car with equipment violations or displaying dangerous driving that disobeys the traffic laws then the color of your car is hardly the matter.

And just to throw into the mix, apparently males are 30% more likely to be pulled over than females with 20 year olds receiving the most tickets at 80,000 and millennials from 19-21 receiving 70,000 tickets. With all those tickets being issued, give Ticket Dismissers a call…we’re here for you!
